Artist Statement
I am a Fine Art student studying at Liverpool Hope University, working primarily in oil paint, blending realism with expressive brushwork to explore themes of memory, connection and emotion. My work investigates finding beauty in the mundanity of life, through capturing the presence of my subjects in a natural and authentic way. The portraits are infused with intricate detail and vibrant colour to evoke feelings of joy and to reflect the relationship I hold with the sitters. My current work employs a gridded structure to introduce distortion, reflecting the restlessness of human nature and evoking a sense of movement and transformation.
